Affliction folds without replacement fighter

As you have heard by now, Josh Barnett, an ex-UFC champion, was suppose to fight Fedor Emelianenko, the best MMA fighter out there.  But Josh tested positive for steriods earlier this week.  Surprised?  I sure hope not.  Of course, what’s ironic is that if this was the MLB, none of this would have happened (no one would have been banned)

In the end, I hope Affliction bought insurance on this like AEG did with the Jacko concert.  But who besides AIG would be stupid enough to insure an event like this without a big premium.  You don’t have to be a genius to know some of these guys are taking steriods and especially someone whose had tested positive in the past.

As early as last night, the company is absorbed by the UFC and discontinues its unsucessful run at promoting fights.  But is it really that hard to find a replacement fighter at the last minute because I know someone who is itching to get in the ring.
